By placing an order with Game Toy Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These apply to all purchases, including those made via our website, Etsy, eBay, or other third-party platforms.
We specialise in second-hand and vintage video games, consoles, and accessories, primarily imported from Japan and other international regions. Each item is hand-sourced, photographed, and individually listed, and is sold as a one-of-a-kind collectible.
1. 🕹 Nature of Goods
All items are pre-owned, vintage, and sold as-is. Due to the nature of second-hand goods:

Cosmetic wear (marks, fading, sticker residue, etc.) is considered normal

All product photos and written descriptions form a legally binding part of the listing under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which requires that goods match their description

Items may be region-specific and require additional or original hardware to function
-
Language, voltage, and video signal formats may differ from UK/EU standards
It is the buyer’s responsibility to confirm compatibility before ordering. All items are considered vintage collector’s items and may not be suited for casual or modern usage without modification.
2. 🛑 All Sales Are Final – No Returns for Change of Mind
As permitted by The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, we are not obligated to accept returns for personalised, custom-sourced, or second-hand goods bought at a distance if the item has been tailored or specially sourced per the buyer’s order.
Because each item is vintage and individually sourced, we do not accept returns under the following circumstances:

Change of mind

Compatibility issues with your region’s hardware

Condition concerns clearly shown or described

Language or packaging differences
-
Functional issues caused by using the wrong adapters, cables, or controllers
All items are sold as seen, and are considered final at the point of dispatch.
3. 🚨 Returns – Broken Items Only
We will only consider a return or partial refund if:

The item arrives physically broken in a way not disclosed or shown in the listing

You notify us within 3 working days of delivery

You provide clear photographic evidence of the damage and packaging

You retain the original packaging
If your return is approved, the item must be shipped back for inspection.
📦 Buyers are responsible for all return postage costs.
⚠️ Compatibility Check Required
Before accepting a return for a claimed “not working” item, the buyer must confirm they tested it using:

Power transformer

AV/HDMI cables

Compatible controller
-
Memory card (if required)

Any other essential accessories
These components are the buyer’s responsibility and can also be purchased separately from our store. We may refuse any return if incorrect or incomplete hardware was used.
🔁 False Fault Claims – Service Charge
If a returned item is found to be fully working, we reserve the right under The Sale of Goods Act 1979 to deduct:

A 10% restocking fee

A £10.00 service/testing charge
Original shipping fees will not be refunded.
4. 💳 Pricing & Payment
All prices are listed in GBP (£) and include applicable UK VAT. Delivery fees are calculated at checkout unless otherwise stated.
We accept payment via:

Orders will not be dispatched until full payment has cleared.
5. 🚚 Shipping & Delivery

Next-day or express shipping may be available if clearly advertised

Please ensure your delivery address is accurate — we are not responsible for delays or losses due to incorrect details.

Incompatibility with modern systems or hardware

Cosmetic wear expected of vintage items

Functional issues caused by lack of required accessories

Misuse, tampering, or third-party modifications
Our maximum liability will never exceed the original price paid for the item in question.
7. 🔁 Terms Updates
These Terms and Conditions may be updated without notice. The most current version will always be published on our website or store listings. By continuing to use our services, you accept any updates.
🔄 Returns & Refunds Policy – Game Toy Ltd
We stand by the quality of our listings and our transparent condition reporting. Because we sell unique, pre-owned items, all sales are final unless the item arrives physically damaged.

Claims based on missing hardware the buyer is responsible for
✅ Returns Allowed Only If:

The item arrives physically broken (not due to buyer misuse)

You return the item in its original condition and packaging
📦 Return postage is always the buyer’s responsibility.
⚙️ Buyer Hardware Responsibility
Before requesting a return, the customer agrees they have used:

The correct region console

A compatible power transformer

Necessary AV or HDMI cables

Controller and/or memory card (where applicable)
-
Any other accessories essential for normal operation
These may be bought separately through our store. We may refuse returns where proper setup was not used.
🔁 Working Item Returns – Fees
Returned items that are found to be working will be subject to:

10% restocking fee

£10 service/testing charge

No refund on original postage
Refunds are issued only after inspection and approval.
💸 Refunds
If approved, refunds are issued to the original payment method within 7 working days of receiving and inspecting the item.
Final Notes

🕹️ It is your responsibility to own the necessary hardware to operate imported or region-locked products
